We have moved aboard!

20th December

We officially “moved aboard” although we still have to trek up the Johannesburg on a pretty regular occasion for the while. We brought down quite a few things and will bring down more when we return next week.

This past week has absolutely flown past, Wiekus and Nicky we down here on their honeymoon and we and a whale of a time, Nicky was very nervous with all things “boaty”…her favourite was to say “ I is not a fish” but she got her sea legs and enjoyed the day out in the big blue. They headed out yesterday and we now have a few days before our next visitors arrive, so we want to get stuck in and fix a few things before that.

I have also been studying for my TEFL certificate and am about 2 thirds of the way through the coursework. I am hoping to complete it before having to buy more time.

The selling of household items has also been going really well. We have a whole host of people waiting for us to arrive back so they can collect the items they want. We will be up there for a few days next week so we can sort that out and have a whole lot less to sell.

We also plan to get our yellow fever vaccinations early next year, and consult with the doctor as to whether there are other injections he believes are necessary. We want to get all the vaccinations we need for the section of the trip from South Africa to Australia via the Panama Canal. We have heard Indonesia is very strict so we will need others in Australia, and we can get the balance, if there are any, at that stage.

Well off to do some boat work before our next visitors: Granny Lela, Vicky and little Michael of only 9 months!
