New Promotional goodies!

23rd July 2010

From the last post I realise I have literally started to run out of interesting information to share…or at least it feels like everything has been sort of put on ice for a while. We have returned back to the normal life (which now feels extremely boring) and are trapped here doing these ordinary things until December when the school year ends.

During this week I received a call from Love 2 Learn to state that my order is ready for dispatch and I will receive it during next week! Monday will also be my last day at work for this month as we plan on experimenting with the 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off method while still here to ensure that the plan works in action. That way we still have time to make adjustments to dates, times etc before we add the home schooling and actual travel to the equation.

We have also made a list of all the places we would like to go to in South Africa before we take off and will be adding these travels to our journeys for next year. We will be travelling to God’s Window and Augrabie’s falls among others. I have also added a few “places of interest” that I believe will be educational for the kids and will fit into our schedule…The Pioneer museum, Gold Reef City, The War Museum etc. These visits and trips will be planned in to fit with our travelling and working schedule to maximise the benefit and enjoyment while being a welcome break from the monotonous 600km bi-monthly trip to the yacht.

Both my boys are competing in a chess tournament tomorrow – this is for district (in my day Eastern Transvaal or Regional) and they are very excited. I hope they do well and am very proud of them even before they start to compete even though it means a 5am wakeup call for me on a Saturday morning! That reminds me to do some research for an online chess ranking site, the kids are interested in making this a permanent feature and completing worldwide while travelling…should be interesting.

I have been hard at work designing T-shirts and a few other promotional items that should go up for sale on our website during the next 2 weeks. We managed to find a company that will print these item on order, that way we do not have to carry stock (a very difficult task considering we will be living aboard a sailboat) and we are also not responsible for finding out sizes, colours and postage addresses. We will be buying a few of these ourselves so look out for pics all over our website of us wearing the fantastic Yrumoar branded clothing – Why not buy some for yourself to wear this summer?
