Looking back, I can’t believe how long it has been since I posted…it has been a crazy month and with the New Year just a day away it is time to reflect on the year past. Sitting here at 4:30am watching the water seems like just the place.
This year has been a biggy…for all of us.
- South Africa hosted the Fifa World Cup
- Kyle has learned to ride a bicycle and to swim.
- Rauen was made Headboy at school
- We bought Yrumoar and the mooring she is currently hooked to
Granny Lela, Vicky and Michael came down for a few days and we had a wonderful time. As it was the first time any of them had been on a boat it was quite an eye opener, the physical size of the boat was the first shock, then Lela was astounded by the fact that there are actually “boat people”, people who live on yachts and travel and don’t come from the land of the big smoke. Little Michael enjoyed himself thoroughly, playing on the boat and discovering new and awesome things…and he behaved like an angel even enjoying the rough water when we went out sailing!
I am really glad they came down because it gave her a sense of comfort knowing her grandchildren will be living on a spacious catamaran and travelling rather than the perceived idea of a small damp dark place in uncomfortable seas and dangerous places.
Tomorrow night we will head up to the yacht club for a New Years eve party to welcome in 2011. Well it seems a toast to the old year and another for the new year…may all your dreams materialise!
